Incorporating Tutoring Experiences in Teacher Education: Benefits to Pre-Service Teachers and Suggestions for Teacher Educators
Abstract
- The article focuses on a study whose aim is to explore personal beliefs of preservice teachers toward reading, reading instruction, and working with struggling readers. In the study, preservice teachers were learning to work with young readers in the K-3 classroom and states that the work performed by preservice teachers with students and elementary teachers in the K-3 classroom, helps them to continually redefine their teacher's identity as a future teacher.
