Partners in professionalism: creating a quality field experience for preservice teachers
Abstract
A study examined preservice elementary teachers' field experience within a professional development school (PDS). Primary participants were five preservice teachers who took part in a university/schools PDS project in Washington. Results suggested that the eight aspects of the field experience that had a profound effect on the participants were a yearlong experience, clustering within the PDS, on-site literacy classes, teacher study groups and action research, a steering committee, enhanced supervision, a second PDS field experience, and participants' improved status.; (AN 507740527)
